After a long period on the sidelines, the news and images for Paul Feig’s upcoming Ghostbusters reboot are coming thick and fast, treating us to an array of set photos and videos from the film’s Boston set.
Hot on the heels of yesterday’s impromptu still, the filmmaker took to Twitter to unveil a new image that showcases all four of the titular scientists – Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones – posing in front of the iconic Ecto-1 automobile. In fact, amid all the monster hunting and filming, there is still plenty of space for comedy, as this set photo below attests.
Taken from the Boston set, we see McCarthy essentially teasing Kristen Wiig’s Erin Gabler by continuously taking off anytime she lays a finger on the handle. It’s an age-old college prank, but it’s still refreshing to see inklings of the chemistry between the core cast.
Over the past few days, this stream of Ghostbusters news hasn’t been exclusive to group photos and images, though, with news of The Purge: Anarchy and The Wire star Michael K. Williams opening negotiations to join Feig’s ensemble piece, which has already locked down Thor alum Chris Hemsworth. Andy Garcia, Cecily Strong, and Neil Casey are also understood to be a part of that star-studded list.
