PlayStation owners may have been bitterly disappointed when Naughty Dog opted to postpone the hotly-anticipated Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End into 2016, though those budding adrenaline junkies can take solace in the fact that the entire trilogy is primed to make the jump to PlayStation 4 later this year in the form of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.
Bundling together Drake’s Fortune, Among Thieves and Drake’s Deception, it’s understood that ND’s upcoming re-release will target 60fps on Sony’s current-gen system, while multiplayer will be a no-show across each installment. In its place, we understand that the definitive edition will include instant access to the upcoming beta for A Thief’s End, though neither Sony or Naughty Dog have detailed an exact start date.
Over on PlayStation Blog, Social Media Manager Sid Shuman offered his hands-on impressions of the collection, and compared its gameplay and general performance to Naughty Dog’s other PS4 re-release, The Last of Us Remastered.
Target of 60fps. Felt pretty much identical to The Last of Us Remastered in this regard. Super smooth. The new 1080p resolution and generous framerate give everything a clean, crisp, fluid look and feel that flatters the original PS3 version without betraying Naughty Dog’s vision. One might say that this is Uncharted 2 the way it was meant to be played. And yep, that building still falls down real good.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will bring Naughty Dog’s treasured adventurer to PlayStation 4 on October 7 and October 9 in Europe and North America, respectively.
