As promised, CD Projekt Red is capping off a long and overly successful post-launch content plan for The Witcher III: Wild Hunt with the addition of New Game Plus mode, though it won’t be added into the sprawling RPG this week.

In a post via Twitter, the Polish dev confirmed that the sixteenth free piece of downloadable content is inbound, bringing with it harder enemies, additional achievements and the ability to carry over all of your in-game accomplishments as Geralt of Rivia.

While previous add-ons have encompassed new finishing moves and alternate costumes for Wild Hunt‘s main characters – namely Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer of Vengerberg – this is arguably the most substantial of the bunch. Quite befitting, too, that CD Projekt Red would choose to hold New Game Plus and all of the replayability it brings until the final post-launch update.

In detailing the soon-to-be-released DLC, CD Projekt Red offered some new details today about the specifics of the new-fangled mode.

Enemies will be stronger obviously.

What carries over? Player experience (if you’re below level 30 when finishing the vanilla game, you will be bumped to level 30 for the start of NG+), items (excluding: quest items, books & letters, Gwent cards, usable items, trophies) and alchemy recipes.

When starting New Game Plus you can select any difficulty level.

You can obtain the Death Match achievement when playing the NG+ mode.

What’s the starting level of the character when beginning NG+? The same that you had when finishing the game, if above 30, otherwise you start at 30. You also get a free Clearing Potion at the start so you can reset your skills and try a different build.

As for the future, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt will receive its first major expansion this October in the form of Hearts of Stone, followed by Blood and Wine in early 2016. According to the studio, both add-ons together are comparable in size to The Witcher II.
