Alright everybody, looks like tropical house isn’t cool anymore. Justin Bieber has uploaded a 12-second clip from his follow-up to his and Jack Ãœ’s collaboration “Where Are Ãœ Now,” and artists like Kygo, Klingande and Thomas Jack must be rolling their eyes at his co-opting of their signature style.

Opening with an upbeat acoustic guitar sample that almost sounds like a Jack Johnson riff, the sample of “What Do You Mean” transitions from verse to chorus incorporating the flute-like synth characteristic of trop house into its arrangement. It sounds stylistically close enough to his Jack Ãœ track to signify that the pop singer’s foray into EDM may be more than a passing phase, but at the same time, it’s hard to see it as anything more than a disingenuous marketing ploy.

Nonetheless, any interested parties will be glad to know that Justin Bieber‘s “What Do You Mean” is slated for release in 25 days.
