Apparently James McAvoy & Michael Fassbender Have Signed On For More X-Men Movies

Not that it was ever really in any doubt, but both actors were only signed on for three X-Men films and had stated previously that they weren't certain that they'd be returning. That's usually just a formality of course - but in case anyone was worried that the X-universe would have to make do without McAvoy's Charles Xavier and Fassbender's Magneto, by the sounds of things, new deals are in place and they're both set to reprise the roles in Fox's batch of post X-Men: Apocalypse projects.

Not that it was ever really in any doubt, but both actors were only signed on for three X-Men films and had stated previously that they weren’t certain that they’d be returning. That’s usually just a formality of course – but in case anyone was worried that the X-universe would have to make do without McAvoy’s Charles Xavier and Fassbender’s Magneto, by the sounds of things, new deals are in place and they’re both set to reprise the roles in Fox’s batch of post X-Men: Apocalypse projects.

The report comes from Heroic Hollywood scooper El Mayimbe, who’s also received word that the studio wants Nicholas Hoult (Beast) and Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) back for more mutant mayhem, but with the latter stating that Apocalypse will be her last time in the blue body paint, they might have some serious persuading to do.

No details on how many more movies they’ve signed on for, and we’ll have to treat this as a rumor until we hear something official – but, again, this was always a bit of a no-brainer, so the info is most likely solid.

X-Men: Apocalypse will be with us on May 19, 2016.
