Rupert Friend Takes Aim In Ludicriously Violent New Trailer For Hitman: Agent 47

With Deadpool hitting the interwebs and Fantastic Four gracing theaters, it’s been a busy week for 20th Century Fox, and the studio is capping it all off with a ludicrously violent new trailer for Hitman: Agent 47.

Dropping the remixed “Voodoo Child” track that has been a staple of the film’s marketing pizzaz hitherto, the latest clip opens with Star Trek Into Darkness and American Horror Story‘s Zachary Quinto detailing the near-supernatural abilities of Rupert Friend’s titular assassin. Engineered as the perfect man-made killer, Agent 47 is an emotionless hired gun, capable of cleaning out an entire room of baddies with one arm tied behind his back.

For Aleksander Bach’s Hitman: Agent 47, though, Friend’s one-man army will set out an a mission to dismantle the organization that birthed him in the first place. It’s a plot that will force our protagonist to locate Hannah Ware’s Katia van Dees, a catalyst who holds the key to Friend’s mission. Going off of the trailer, it looks as though Ware’s lead won’t just be a macguffin to accelerate the story, with hints of her channeling her own particular set of skills that make her a nightmare to Quinto and Co.

Rupert Friend’s Jack of all trades, and master of every bleeding one of them, will dive into action when Hitman: Agent 47 hits theaters on 21.
