Earlier this week, we got a stunning new trailer for Ridley Scott’s The Martian, which boasts a stellar cast and some thrilling source material. Not to mention it will see the director once again return to the world of sci-fi, which almost always produces fantastic results. Tipped as one of the hottest releases this Fall, expectations are certainly high.

Thankfully, we won’t have to wait long to see if it will deliver, as The Martian will make its bow at the Toronto International Film Festival before opening in theatres on October 2nd. All signs point to a promising sci-fi thriller, and so far, we’re eagerly anticipating what could be one of Scott’s best films in years.

Now, to keep the momentum going, 20th Century Fox have released six new screenshots alongside an interesting featurette, which can be viewed below. It shows Scott and Damon on stage with Andy Weir, who wrote the book that the film is based on, and some people from NASA, as they discuss the scientific accuracy of the story. It’s pretty interesting stuff, and if you’re curious to catch The Martian once it hit theatres, we definitely recommend giving it a watch.

The Martian opens on October 2nd. Tell us, do you think it could be a return to form for Scott after his last few films disappointed?
