Jersey Shore fans rejoice! Your favorite guidos and guidettes will return to television a lot sooner than we had initially expected. The gang is currently in Florence, Italy filming season four and Deadline tells us that the new season will start on August 4th, taking its usual 10pm time slot.
Furthermore, beginning production later this month will be a fifth season which has offically been given the go ahead by MTV. For season five, the gang will return home to Seaside Heights (again? really?) and it is there that the fifth season will take place.
It’s hard to believe Jersey Shore has lasted five seasons but after all, it is MTV’s #1 show, so they must be doing something right. The ratings for it are incredible and it’s a massive moneymaker for the network.
Although some of you (myself included), may feel like five seasons of drunken debauchery, grenade dodging and sticky situations may be enough, don’t expect it to end anytime soon. MTV is going to squeeze every last dollar they can out of the show.
