At one time, Serenity actor and all-round geek messiah Nathan Fillion was the firm fan-favorite choice to play Green Lantern. Of course, that role ultimately went to Ryan Reynolds, and though a reboot is in the works, one has to assume they’ll be casting a little younger for the part this time around.

Fillion has remained a big fan though, voicing Hal Jordan is various DC Animated projects over the years – and he evidently still has some interest in playing a live action DC character, because he’s now set his sights on none other than Booster Gold.

Here’s what he had to say at at Wizard World Comic-Con Chicago when asked who he’d play if he could have his pick of any character from Marvel or DC movie universes:

“I think I could take a pretty good crack at Booster Gold. That’s kind of my niche… show-offy, vain. I think I could handle that… not too bright.”

Booster appeared in an episode of Smallville years ago, bit aside from that there have been no live action incarnations of the character. There was talk of giving him a TV series a while back, but those plans seem to have fallen by the wayside.

Who knows if or when we’ll see Booster Gold in a Warner Bros. DC movie, but if it was to ever happen, do you think Fillion would be a good fit for the role?
