October is fast-approaching, and that can only mean one thing: yes, another Paranormal Activity is primed to launch in theaters. Switching gears to the small screen, though, and Ryan Murphy’s popular anthology series will return with American Horror Story: Hotel, and today’s new batch of stills showcase the various stars checking in for what will surely be a retreat to remember – for better or worse.

Spotlighting recurring characters played by Evan Peters and Kathy Bates, while also drawing attention to newcomers Lady Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta) and supermodel Naomi Campbell. Assembling under the roof of the Hotel Cortez, it is the former new addition to the cast who will play Countess, owner of the titular abode who also happens to be a vampire in all but name. According to Murphy, Gaga’s unpredictable character has been infected with an “ancient blood curse” and becomes embroiled in a love triangle between Matt Bomer and Finn Wittrock’s characters.

As for Peters’ character, it’s understood that the series stalwart will be the one who built Hotel Cortez in the first place some time in the 1930s, indicating that his James March will appear via flashbacks. American Horror Story is no stranger to experimenting with the general rulebook – heck, in the wake of Freak Show, it was revealed that every season exists in the same universe – though Murphy and his creative team are seemingly creating Hotel to be the season with the strongest ties to the original outing in 2011.

FX’s critically acclaimed and unforgivingly dark series will return this fall when American Horror Story: Hotel premieres on October 7.
