Final Fantasy XV Confirmed For 2016 Release

After nearly an entire decade of prolonged development, Final Fantasy XV is now officially close to being finished, as Square Enix recently confirmed at PAX Prime that the much-anticipated RPG will finally be released some time in 2016. No time window was given outside of the year, but it's still nice to know that the wait is mostly over. Square Enix reps also recently said they're aiming for a simultaneous worldwide release of the game rather than prioritizing the Japanese release first, so Western gamers likely won't have to wait until 2017.

No time window was given outside of the year, but it’s still nice to know that the wait is mostly over. Square Enix reps also recently said they’re aiming for a simultaneous worldwide release of the game rather than prioritizing the Japanese release first, so Western gamers likely won’t have to wait until 2017.

A new video was also released that showcases the various ways players will be able to travel through the game’s expansive world via a snazzy convertible. You will be able to choose between full manual control of the car as well as automated movement to specific points, and have a variety of camera settings, from a first-person view through the driver to more zoomed out and scenic scenes. An ‘auto-valet’ mechanic will also allow for automated parking if a spot is available.

We will continue to post more news on Final Fantasy XV as it develops, so be sure to stay tuned!
