At long last, Rocksteady and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive have confirmed plans to launch the long-awaited interim PC patch For Batman: Arkham Knight, designed to fix an array of crippling technical problems that resulted in the port being pulled from shelves shortly after release.

From the choppy and unstable framerate to the problems with resolution, this is the first major patch to be released for the PC version of the critically-adorned threequel in some time, and WB plans to roll out the following updates first before adding further updates incrementally.

Reduced frame rate hitches.
Optimizations for system memory and VRAM usage.
Improved performance on all GPUs (requires the latest drivers).
More Comprehensive In-Game Settings.
Fixed low resolution texture bugs.
Fixed hitches when running on mechanical hard drives (HDD).

It’s no secret that Batman: Arkham Knight irked early adopters and Steam users back in June, when the PC port was ostensibly unplayable. Reports surfacing that the version had been off-handed to a skeleton development team only exacerbated the matter, though it seems Rocksteady and Warner are finally beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel. In tandem with the release of the aforementioned patch, the studios thanks fans for their continuing support, and for the feedback they provided that ultimately looped back in to making Arkham Knight a better experience all around.

“We would like to thank everyone for their patience and invaluable feedback. We’ll provide ongoing updates here as they are made available. In the meantime, please enjoy the game with the latest patch.”

Stay tuned for further updates relating to Batman: Arkham Knight and its achingly slow progression on PC as we learn more.
