Telltale and Mojang’s unorthodox crossover game, Minecraft: Story Mode, was already rumored for an October launch for the first episode. Now, not only has Telltale given a specific date for the debut chapter’s digital launch, but they’ve also announced a physical release of the game.

Disc releases aren’t a foreign concept to Telltale, as many of their previous games have gotten the physical treatment after all their episodes have been released, but Story Mode will be taking a more unique approach.

The digital version of the first episode will launch on October 13 across PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, October 15 for iOS and Android, and a later date for Wii U and the PS Vita. The disc version will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 on October 27 in North America. It will serve as a physical season pass, as the first episode will be included from the start and future episodes won’t cost anything to download.

We will continue to post more news on Minecraft: Story Mode as it becomes available, so stay tuned!
