Magnets By Disclosure And Lorde Is Finally Upon Us

This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

In the last days before the release of Disclosure‘s Caracal, the duo have been keeping their names in the in the mouths of dance music fans by allowing tidbits from the album to trickle out. A major one takes the form of their collaboration with Lorde, “Magnets,” a serene slice of midtempo bliss that contrasts somewhat with the other tracks they’ve already revealed from their sophomore effort.

“Magnets” is particularly minimal from a production standpoint, undoubtedly in an effort to let Lorde’s vocals shine as the focal point of the arrangement. The markedly lower tempo of the track puts it closer to the future bass category than Disclosure’s usual house leanings, and bongo-like percussion adds a unique flavor to the track without detracting from the topline.

As for the rest of Disclosure‘s Caracal, the official release is slated for the day after tomorrow. Listen to what the duo has put together for “Magnets” and let us know if you’re looking forward to the full album in the comments section.
