Mike Colter has been snapped on the set of Jessica Jones in the past, so this isn’t our first glimpse of him as Luke Cage, but it is our first idea of how he’ll appear as the character in his own show.

The images above were taken on the set of Marvel and Netfix’s third TV project, and though not terribly exciting, they do feature Power Man sharing a quieter moment with an older gentleman outside a barbershop – and the last pic reveals what Mr. Cage will be doing for money when we catch up with him next year.

Sweeping up outside a barbershop is not exactly fitting work for a superhero, but if the show’s official synopsis is anything to go by, Cage is going to be on the wrong side of the law before becoming the “Hero For Hire” he’s destined to be, so chances are the former barman will be taking whatever he can get.

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin,Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

With Cheo Hodari Coker as showrunner, Marvel and Netflix’s Luke Cage will be with us sometime in 2016.
