We’ve already heard from Kevin Feige today about Marvel’s big plans for Spider-Man and the hope for more connectivity between the movies and TV shows, but the Marvel Studios President has now dropped perhaps the biggest reveal yet, as he addresses what sounds like the end of Captain America‘s solo adventures on the big screen.

Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers won’t make it out of Captain America: Civil War alive, but the movie still sounds like something of a definitive ending for the character based on Feige’s comments.

“It’s very much, in a certain way, the completion of a Captain America trilogy. I think one day you’ll look back and watch — ’Captain America: The First Avenger,’ ’Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ and ’Captain America: Civil War’ — and it’ll be one of the most unique and different trilogies ever around a single character.”

Marvel has any number of directions they can take the Captain America franchise after Civil War. Chris Evans could be convinced to stay on in the role, or the mantle could be passed to characters like Bucky or The Falcon. Steve Rogers going nowhere would be good – especially as pretty much every Marvel fan wants to see him assemble every Avenger ever in Infinity War – but the death of Captain America would certainly shake up Phase 3 in a major way.

What do you think about Feige’s comments though? Let us know your thoughts and theories in the comments section below.
