SEGA has released a new trailer for their upcoming 2D fighting game, Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax. The PlayStation 3 and Vita title, which combines notable characters from the Dengeki Bunko imprint with SEGA stages and characters, is set to release early next month, and this new trailer shows off several of the light novel characters, such as Kirino Kousaka from Oreimo.
Other familiar faces include Akira Yuki from Virtua Fighter, Rentarō Satomi from Black Bullet, and Sword Art Online‘s Kirito. You can see some of these characters, and others, in the trailer embedded above. Overall, there are 14 playable fighters and over 20 assist characters that can be used in battle.
Anime fans won’t have to wait too long to get their hands on Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax, since it’s set to release October 6. Also, if players pick up a launch edition of the game, for either PlayStation 3 or Vita, they’ll get a CD containing the game’s soundtrack. This is similar to how Atlus markets their titles, so it seems like SEGA is taking tips from the publisher they purchased in 2013.
While Dengeki Bunko doesn’t have the same name recognition as other anime brands in North America, several of their shows have become very well known to western anime fans. This looks to be a solid fighter, too, thanks to developer Ecole Software’s pedigree on other titles such as Under Night In-Birth, and just enough fan service to give enthusiasts what they want out of a crossover game.
