Throughout the build-up to the release of Sam Mendes’ spy sequel Spectre, speculation has been rife regarding which actor would succeed Daniel Craig in the role of James Bond. From Damien Lewis to the much-touted addition of Idris Elba, the Internet has deliberated over the next Bond for months at this point, though it seems in this case, the simplest answer happens to be the right one a la Occam’s Razor.

That’s right, rather than pass on the torch and Walther PPK after the release of Spectre, actor Daniel Craig remains confident that he’ll reprise the role of the famed super spy for Bond 25 – he is contractually obliged for one more film, after all – stating that he will continue to embark on globe-trotting adventures as the legendary agent for “as long as [he’s] physically able.”

But Craig remains realistic when it comes to the physically demanding nature of the coveted role, admitting that portraying James Bond on screen is becoming more difficult as the years go on. Due to make his fourth appearance as the MI6 operative in a few weeks’ time, it would appear likely that Bond 25 would mark the final outing for Craig, though the actor didn’t rule out the possibility of extending his contract.

“I’m contracted for one more – but I’m not going to make predictions.” Actually, he went even further than that. Referring to the physical demands of the role, he added, “It’s getting harder. But such is life. I’ll keep going as long as I’m physically able.”

Sending Craig’s Bond on his most personal and daring mission to date, Spectre will also bring together an ensemble cast that includes Naomie Harris Ben Wishaw, Rory Kinnear, Ralph Fiennes, Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, David Bautista, Léa Seydoux and Andrew Scott.

Daniel Craig will don the tuxedo and Walther PPK once more as the famed 00 agent when Spectre blasts into theaters on November 6, 2016 in North America. To whet your appetite for the thriller’s release, you can feast your eyes on the electrifying final trailer.
