In 2015, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will whisk fans of the franchise back to Victorian London replete with horse-drawn carriages and grimy, billowing chimneys, and Ubisoft has today unveiled a new featurette for the action-adventure sequel that spotlights some of the key historical figures of the time. From Florence Nightingale to Karl Marx, Charles Dickens to the indelible Charles Darwin, the clip highlights the ways in which each real-life icon will contribute to the story, as they guide both Jacob and Evie Frye in the quest to overthrow the powers of London.

Developed primarily by Ubisoft Quebec, Syndicate is making waves for its decision to incorporate duel protagonists into its single-player narrative. The Frye twins are markedly different, too, with Jacob harboring a more intense, in-your-face style of fighting as opposed to Evie’s deft, stealthy touch. It’ll certainly make for a nice counter to being stuck controlling a single assassin for the entire campaign, particularly when Ubisoft has the small matter of redeeming the failure of last year’s botched Unity.

All will be revealed when Assassin’s Creed Syndicate swan dives onto PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 23, before slinking onto PC a little later on November 19. Tell us, has the disappointment of Unity quelled your excitement for Syndicate? Let us know via the comments section below.
