Disney and Lucasfilm have just unveiled the very first official theatrical poster for J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The stunning artwork depicts new characters Rey, Poe Dameron, Captain Phasma, Kylo Ren, BB-8 and a lightsaber wielding Finn, as well as returning favourites Han Solo, Princess Leia and Chewbacca. We also seem to have gotten our first glimpse of the First Order’s new ultimate weapon, the Star Killer, which may or may not simply be an updated version of the Death Star from the previous films.
This is just the beginning of what promises to be some awesome promotion for the movie, and we’ll have the final trailer with us tomorrow during halftime of ESPN’s Monday Night Football, which coincides with the launch of ticket pre-sales.
Starring original cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, and franchise newcomers, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o and Max von Sydow, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to be released on December 18th, 2015.
