Dinosaur creation going open source, the second installment in Universal’s newfound trilogy and perhaps the most important proposition of all: Claire Dearing changing footwear. Yes, if there was one element of Jurassic World‘s success that took the actress – and the rest of us – by surprise, it was the controversy that blew up surrounding those high heels.

For all of the physical and scientific liberties taken during the course of the film, the scene of Claire fleeing from the T-Rex was enough to cause quite the stir, and while the actress admitted she was taken aback by the reaction, Howard recently confirmed that she’ll be leaving the high heels at the door before reprising her role as the astute park manager for Jurassic World 2.

Speaking to Collider, the actress noted that “when Colin [Trevorrow] texted me to tell me that the sequel was happening, like when it got greenlit and I was going to be in it, he texted me ‘no heels #2018’.” Stop the presses.

Beyond the crucial plot point of Claire’s heels, Jurassic World 2 has been described as a “different kind of film” to its monstrous predecessor, seeding the creation of a bona fide trilogy at Universal. While Trevorrow is yet to commit to the sequel due to his ties with Star Wars: Episode IX, early plot details suggest that the next chapter could see dinosaur creation falling into the hands of numerous organizations across the globe, as opposed to remaining under the control of the nefarious InGen.

Such a set-up could lead to some truly weird and wonderful DNA concoctions, enough to outshine even the Indominus Rex. Indeed, during development of Jurassic World, the director and the writing team dreamed up an idea for a Stegoceratops crossover, though ultimately cut the manmade dino from the final product in fear that it would steal Indominus’ thunder.

Jurassic World 2 will stomp into theaters on June 22, 2018 with decidedly less high heels.
