There’s no question about it; the arrival of the final Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer was held up as an event across the four corners of the industry. Not since The Dark Knight Rises or 2012’s Avengers have we experienced such feverish excitement for the release of a movie, and it was a feeling that was shared by the cast of the film itself.

Posting their respective reactions up on Instagram, both Daisy Ridley and John Boyega – who play Rey and Finn in J.J. Abrams’ sequel – joined in with the celebration, and you can check out their overjoyed reactions to the clip in question down below.

From Boyega’s uncontrollable excitement to Ridley’s genuine tears of joy, it’s heartening to see that The Force Awakens has had a profound effect on not only the fans looking forward to December 18, but the actors who became a part of the legacy.

Now that we’ve had time to marinate on the 2 minute snippet, we’re beginning to learn more and more about the finer details of LucasFilm’s final trailer. Indeed, earlier today, Disney Insider revealed that it was Lupita Nyong’o’s alien character Maz Kanata that narrated the closing scenes of the footage, though whether her monologue – “The Force, it’s calling out to you – just let it in.” – is directed to Finn or Rey remains to be seen.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will arrive in theaters on December 18. If you’ve yet to catch up on all of the updates from the past 24 hours, you can feast your eyes on the awe-inspiring trailer here, before delving into a play-by-play breakdown below.
