The Martian’s Naomi Scott was recently cast as the Pink Ranger in the upcoming Power Rangers reboot, and now another major casting addition has been made to the movie. Newcomer Dacre Montgomery is set to take on the role of the Red Ranger, a part which could help launch his career to the next level.

Unfortunately, no further details have been revealed in regards to the kind of role he’ll have in the Power Rangers movie, something which is hardly a surprise considering the fact that plot details are also a closely guarded secret. Along with the image above though, the official Power Rangers Twitter account Tweeted out the following:

“Every #PowerRangers squad needs a leader. Welcome Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger in the 2017 #PowerRangersMovie!”

The Power Rangers TV series has been running in various forms for over two decades now, so it should be interesting to see how the studio is planning to reboot it for the big screen. We still don’t know a whole lot about it just yet, and with the release date set for January 13th, 2017, it’s likely going to be a while before we find out any more.

As always though, we’ll keep you posted when we hear more.
