Gameplay Trailer For Call Of Duty: Black Ops III Paints A Dark And Bleak Future

It's almost that time of year. Yes, Activision is gearing up for the release of another installment in its lucrative, long-running Call of Duty juggernaut, and with Treyarch at the helm for 2015's entry, we're now only a couple of weeks out from Call of Duty: Black Ops III making its debut.

It’s almost that time of year. Yes, Activision is gearing up for the release of another installment in its lucrative, long-running Call of Duty juggernaut, and with Treyarch at the helm for 2015’s entry, we’re now only a couple of weeks out from Call of Duty: Black Ops III making its debut.

To commemorate the occasion, the studio has lifted back the curtain on the appropriately explosive launch trailer for the shooter, drawing attention to its three nominal game modes: single-player, multiplayer and Zombies. As the studio that introduced the latter feature as a humble end-game bonus within World at War all those years ago, Treyarch is whisking the undead action back to the past for Black Ops III, as players control of characters voiced by the likes of Jeff Goldblum, Heather Graham, Neal McDonough and Ron Perlman.

Then again, arguably the marquee feature of any Call of Duty release is the seemingly evergreen multiplayer segment, and considering that the creative team is dragging warfare into the year 2065, we can expect plenty of gameplay tweaks and changes as Treyarch moulds an experience that is a white-knuckle ride in every sense.

The technology seen here will also filter into the game’s core campaign. Designed from the ground up with 4-player co-op in mind, Treyarch has also announced plans to open up all chapters of the story from the get-go, adopting an approach to content that bears semblance to Netflix’s template.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III will launch across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 6, when it will also debut on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 – though it won’t feature a single-player component on the latter two platforms.
