The latest tidbit from Empire Magazine’s Suicide Squad issue focuses on the mysterious Enchantress, who is rumoured to be the primary antagonist in the David Ayer-directed movie. All we know for sure is that she’s based on the DC comics sorceress of the same name, has split personality, enjoys taking very creepy looking baths, and will be played by model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne – who drops a few more hints as to what we can expect from her take on the character.

Delevingne begins by revealing how the human alter ego of Enchantress, June Moon, first encounters the magical (demonic?) entity that winds up possessing her.

June is an adventure seeker who’s always wanted some excitement. And she gets what she wished for, but in a terrible way. At the start of the movie she discovers a cavern and finds…something…within. She’s an ancient sorceress. A feral being. She’s been trapped for so long and know she’s finally let out.

That doesn’t sound good for Miss Moon. But, if she’s essentially going to be playing two different characters in one body, how did Delevingne approach these dual roles and go about differentiating them?

I’d gather the accent, which is deeper and posher than June’s. And I’d last Nick Cave’s Red Right Hand, that song about the devil. Also a lot of Megadeth. Just evil stuff.

Unfortunately, Delevingne didn’t comment on Enchantress possibly being the villain of the piece, so we’ll just have to see for ourselves when Suicide Squad hits theaters next August. As of now, though, we’re definitely intrigued to see how she factors into everything.
