On the heels of a rip-roaring and overly successful IndieGoGo campaign – Broken Lizard raised $4.5 million on the crowdfunding site – filming is now a go on long-awaited sequel Super Troopers 2.
Heralding the return of Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Erik Stolhanske and Paul Soter as the inimitable Vermont State highway patrol unit, the set photos include a number of familiar faces and equally-familiar moustaches. Yes, it marks a return to the roots for the Broken Lizard, who struggled to make any form of impact with 2010’s underwhelming The Slammin’ Salmon.
Fast forward to today and the crew is fulfilling a longstanding promise with Super Troopers 2, and budding fans and early backers to the crowdfunding campaign will no doubt revel in the nostalgia of the photos.

Reprising their roles as the beloved and bumbling patrol unit, Super Troopers 2 is on course to release a full decade and a half afters the original film, which has since gone on to secure cult status following its bow in 2001. Can the long-awaited sequel take advantage of the pent-up excitement? Time will tell.
The cameras, they are a-rolling on Super Troopers 2, and while there’s no mention of plot at the time of writing, it’s expected that the Broken Lizard crew will launch the film in the latter stages of 2016.
