With just 7 days to go until the release of Fallout 4, Bethesda have been drip feeding information to fans on their blog. On Monday, they published a detailed post that reveals new information about the upcoming post apocalyptic RPG and the music behind it. For the first time in the history of the franchise, Fallout 4 will feature original songs, written specifically for the game.
These songs were written and recorded by Lynda Carter, perhaps best known for playing Wonder Woman on TV in the 1970’s. She also provided voice work in previous Bethesda games, and will appear within Fallout 4Â as a character named Magnolia, who is a singer at a bar in the town of Goodneighbour.
In total, Carter has penned five songs for Fallout 4, and all of them will be on rotation in the game’s new Diamond City Radio, following on from Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas and their sterling radio stations and music selection. Bethesda have also confirmed that Diamond City Radio will be hosted by “a charmingly quirky DJ who adds all kinds of situation-specific commentary between tracks.” Unfortunately, though, fan favorite Galaxy News Radio DJ, Three Dog, will not appear in Fallout 4.
Apparently, the game will feature three times the amount of tunes that appeared in Fallout 3, and all of the confirmed tracks so far are available to enjoy on a Spotify playlist. The music that appears in game might not fit perfectly with the game’s time period, though, which is supposedly “sometime after” the events of World War II. When talking about the choice of music, audio director Mark Lampert made it clear that “the fun won out,” when it came to picking tracks, stating that they were aiming for “more of the early rock-n-roll sound.”
Fallout 4 launches on November 10 for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC. Will you be picking it up? Let us know down below.
