More Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Concept Art Surfaces

A new look at Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is expected to drop before the end of the year (quite possibly with Star Wars: The Force Awakens), but we have some great new concept art from this highly anticipated release to keep us going in the meantime. A new look at Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is expected to drop before the end of the year (quite possibly with Star Wars: The Force Awakens), but today, we have some great new concept art from the highly anticipated release to keep us going in the meantime. This batch focuses on Ben Affleck’s Caped Crusader, and shows the design process behind bringing his take on Batman to life on the big screen.

Even just judging by the images above, it’s clear that Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns was an inspiration from the very start, and is obviously responsible for the armoured Batsuit that we’ll see Bruce Wayne don to take down the Man of Steel.

Here’s what concept artist Jerad S. Marantz had to say about helping to design Batman’s look in a recent blog post:

“Finally get to show these! Here are some of the images that I painted for Batman versus Superman. I was fortunate enough to spend a bit of time on all of the characters, but was lucky enough to be able to focus on Illustrating the new Batman costume with the incredible costume designer Michael Wilkinson. This was a childhood dream come true.”

As we get closer to the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, more behind the scenes artwork like this will no doubt be released from the movie. We’ve obviously had a great look at the thee main costumes – Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman – in the trailers and official stills, but seeing how they were brought to life like this is always interesting, don’t you think?
