The first weekend in June is like summer’s appetizer, but for two food trucks — it was a full course showdown.

The Food Network was down in Miami from June 4-6 to film the finale of The Great Food Truck Race, a show where eight competing food trucks from across the country ‘foodie’ it out for a $100,000 top prize.

Hodge Podge, the first of two finalists, reined in from the place that LeBron left — Cleveland, OH. With a focus on comfort food, Chef Chris Hodgson served up Miami-inspired dishes like blue crab dip and fried lobster tacos throughout the weekend.

Their competitor, Lime Truck, touched base from Irving, CA. Red curry mussels (featured on Good Morning America) and scallop and crab ceviche were some of the signature dishes, as Lime Truck’s chef, Jason Quinn, mixed it up with his menu items.

The food trucks set up shop all across Miami– from Versailles in Little Havana to The Melting Pot on 157th and Biscayne. The goal — to raise $15,000 by weekend’s end.

Customers who bought food had the opportunity to be on television. While the finale was filmed on Miami Beach, the winner was not disclosed to the public.

To find that out, watch season two of The Great Food Truck Race, which airs on Food Network on Sunday, Aug. 14 at 10pm.
