Tris And Four Make The Ultimate Sacrifice In Intense Full-Length Trailer For Allegiant

For Tris, Four and the remaining Initiates, the truth lies beyond the towering walls of post-apocalyptic Chicago. It’s been teased for a long time, but for Robert Schwentke’s upcoming sequel, our group of heroes will venture out into the arid sun-scorched wasteland, as they search high and wide to find a solution to bring peace to their home. Battling enemy forces, each other and the environment itself, their plight is mapped out in stunning fashion in today’s first full-length trailer for Allegiant.

As promised, and hot on the heels of yesterday’s teaser clip, Summit Entertainment has unveiled the sizzle reel, hinting at new threats that emerge and, specifically, what happens when Tris and Four cross paths with the mysterious Bureau of Genetic Welfare.

Dialling the teenage dystopian action up to 11, Allegiant once again orbits around Tris’ Messiah complex, considering that Miss. Prior has been thrust into the limelight with the weight of the world on her shoulders. Out of all the factions in Chicago – from Dauntless, Amity, Erudite and Abnegation – it is Shailene Woodley’s heroine that displays a flicker of individuality, lending her the opportunity to jump-start a revolution.

Rubbing shoulders with her for the fight are Theo James, Octavia Spencer, Naomi Watts, Jeff Daniels. Ray Stevenson, Zoë Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, Keiynan Lonsdale, Jonny Weston, Mekhi Phifer and Daniel Dae Kim, while Nadia Hilker and Bill Skarsgård join the ensemble cast as newcomers.

Allegiant is now on course to hit theaters on March 18, 2016, while Ascendant will conclude Summit Entertainment’s YA franchise the following year on March 24, 2017.

After the earth-shattering revelations of INSURGENT, Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. For the first time ever, they will leave the only city and family they have ever known in order to find a peaceful solution for their embroiled city.
