Old Droids Meet New Droids In This Star Wars: The Force Awakens Promo Clip

I'm sure C-3PO wouldn't appreciate being called old, so let's go with classic! In this Star Wars: The Force Awakens themed advert from the O2 network, original saga droids Threepio and Artoo find themselves in a very similar situation to the one they did at the beginning of A New Hope: stranded on Tatooine (though this is probably supposed to be Jakku) without a clue what to do next, awaiting their fateful meeting with Luke Skywalker. The only difference here is that instead of being captured by Jawas, they run into the cute little droid we'll be introduced to this December, BB-8.

Though this footage does look good enough to feature in the movie itself, obviously it’s all just for the purposes of this promo – but it’s still cool to get an early idea of how these three droids might interact in The Force Awakens.

Starring original cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker, alongside franchise newcomers John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o and Max von Sydow, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to be released on December 18th, 2015.
