Dreamfall Chapters is a sequel to Funcom’s classic adventure games The Longest Journey and Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. In a testament to how many fans still love the atmospheric, story-driven original, Dreamfall Chapters Kickstarter attracted almost 22,000 backers, who pledged a total of over $1,500,000. Chapters continues The Longest Journey‘s style by combining an edgy cyberpunk world with a parallel, magical fantasy realm.

Revelations is coming out slightly later than its planned October 21st release date, which is mostly due to the company focusing a large amount of effort on last week’s extensive update where all existing episodes were painstakingly ported to the Unity 5 engine, allowing for much better performance and graphical enhancements. The process took the team a lot more time and a lot more manpower than they had previously anticipated, as told in Red Thread Games founder Ragnar Tørnquist’s Medium post.

If you are interested in catching up with all the previous episodes of Dreamfall Chapters, then I would recommend getting yourself over to Steam where the game is currently half-price as part of the digital store’s massive Autumn sale. Be quick, though, the sale ends December 1st!
