Today we get our first look at Emma Watson in her first post-Harry Potter role. The film is The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky (he’s also directing), and it tells the story of a “shy, unpopular teenager who, through a series of letters to an anonymous person, explores his awkward adolescence including drug use, abuse and sexuality in 1991 Pittsburgh.” The film also stars Logan Lerman, Mae Whitman, Nina Dobrev, Paul Rudd and Johnny Simmons.
To be perfectly honest, I have little to no interest in this film, just nothing about it really grabs my attention. It may be notable since it’s Emma Watson in a role other than Hermione Granger but aside from that, I don’t see it being too special. The book is quite popular and its established fan base will likely flock to the theatres to this one but for me, I don’t think I’ll be in too much of a hurry to see it.
What about you? Are you looking forward to it?
