Debut Gameplay Trailer For Far Cry Primal Is A Prehistoric Blast

Announced back in October, Far Cry Primal represents a pretty radical departure for Ubisoft's popular franchise. The studio has been keeping the game under tight lock and key, but now, after weeks of anticipation, we finally got our first glimpse at the gameplay during The Game Awards ceremony, and it looks pretty damn impressive.

Announced back in October, Far Cry Primal represents a pretty radical departure for Ubisoft’s popular franchise. So far, the studio has been keeping the game under tight lock and key, but now, after weeks of anticipation, we finally got our first glimpse at the gameplay during The Game Awards ceremony, and it looks pretty damn impressive.

Since this entry ditches firearms for rocks and spears, many were wondering just how the gameplay would translate. Well, if the debut clip is anything to go by, we have nothing to worry about, as the action remains as brutal and savage as ever. In this clip alone, we see our protagonist maul natives with savage strikes that shatter bones and spill blood.

Hand weapons aren’t the only way you’ll be able to take down foes, though, as animals will also play an important role in the game. Vicious creatures such as massive bears and lightning-quick sabre tooth tigers can be called upon to assist you in the heat of battle. Even better, it appears that you’ll be able to ride these beasts throughout the game’s massive world.
