First Look Promo For Supergirl Season 1, Episode 8: “Hostile Takeover”

Following the shocking reveal at the end of last night’s episode of Supergirl, CBS has released a first look at what’s to come in next week’s Winter finale. Unfortunately, there’s no sign of Martian Manhunter (who looked amazingly similar to his comic book counterpart when Hank Henshaw revealed his true identity in the episode), but it does make it clear that Supergirl is going to be squaring off with her aunt in what looks set to be an epic battle.

Here’s the synopsis for this episode, courtesy of the network:

Kara goes toe-to-toe with Astra when her aunt challenges Kara’s beliefs about her mother. Also, Cat is threatened with being removed as the CEO of CatCo after a hacker exposes her private and damaging emails, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, December 14th on CBS.

We haven’t seen much from Astra since Supergirl began, so it’s good that the winter finale will be putting the spotlight squarely back on the show’s big bad. How this whole thing is going to play out remains to be seen – the series has yet to establish how much of a threat Kara’s aunt really is – but it’s going to be well worth tuning in to find out!
