Star Wars 1313 And George Lucas’ Live-Action Star Wars TV Show May Not Be Dead After All

Three years ago, LucasArts unveiled third-person actioner Star Wars 1313 during E3, sending fans into a tail-spin with a slew of stunning concept art – not to mention the fact that the game starred Boba Fett as the protagonist.

But the title never made it past pre-production after LucasArts was shuttered the following year by Disney, but according to Lucasfilm president, both 1313 and George Lucas’ little-known live-action TV pitch for Star Wars: Underworld aren’t off the table.

Quizzed about the dormant – and seemingly canned – IPs, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy revealed that the creative team at the company have “spent a lot of time” weighing up the potential options to continue both Lucas’ scuppered series and LucasArts’ 1313.

No. No, interestingly enough, thats an area we’ve spent a lot of time, reading through the material that he developed is something we very much would like to explore. And there was 1313 the game, where there was….[concept art]. Unbelievable. So our attitude is, we don’t want to throw any of that stuff away. It’s gold. And it’s something we’re spending a lot of time looking at, pouring through, discussing, and we may very well develop those things further. We definitely want to.

As /Film notes, it seems much more likely that Star Wars 1313 will inspire the planned Boba Fett standalone movie. After all, Visceral Games is currently developing a pirated-themed Star Wars title under EA, and the fact that the publisher holds a ten-year licensing agreement with Lucasfilm means that any evolution of 1313 will have to go through EA.

In terms of television, a flurry of rumors have surfaced over the past year claiming that Lucasfilm – and possibly Netflix – is working on a live-action TV series based in the universe. But will it bear the title Star Wars: Underworld? Time will tell.
