Most of our favourite comic book TV shows don’t return until late January/early February (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. isn’t back until March), but Supergirl will swoop back onto the small screen in the first week of the new year.
To get us excited, CBS has released a new synopsis for the episode today – which is titled “Blood Bonds” – and you can check it out below:
KARA MUST FIND A WAY TO RESCUE HANK FROM ASTRA’S HUSBAND AS SHE TRIES TO REFUTE CAT’S ALLEGATIONS THAT SHE’S SUPERGIRL, ON “SUPERGIRL,” MONDAY, JAN. 4 – With Astra in captivity at the DEO, her husband, Non (Chris Vance), captures Hank, leading to a tense standoff between the two sides. Also, Kara continues to refute Cat’s allegations that she is Supergirl, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, Jan. 4 (8:00-9:00 PM) on the CBS Television Network.
The winter finale of Supergirl ended on quite the cliffhanger, as Cat Grant revealed that she’s aware Kara is Supergirl (a great move which rightly shows how smart the character is), while the final shot of the hero flying into battle against Non is sure to keep fans of the series on the edge of their seats until next month.
Despite what some deemed a rocky start, Supergirl has really taken off as time has gone on, especially as it references the comics in such a significant way. That big Martian Manhunter reveal is proof of that, and seeing how this storyline progresses in the midseason premiere should be a lot of fun, don’t you think?
