Gods Of Egypt Gets An Action-Packed Second Trailer

A brand new trailer for The Crow director Alex Proyas' mythological adventure, Gods Of Egypt, has been released. While the first teaser hinted at the wider story and provided a few glimpses of the deities at war, this one gives us a better idea of the plot and features the first appearances of Thoth (Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman) and the unnamed wise old sage type character (isn't there always one?) played by Geoffrey Rush.

There are also some new shots of Gerard Butler (300) as Set, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game Of Thrones) as Horus, Brenton Thwaites (The Giver) as Bek and Courtney Eaton (Mad Max: Fury Road) as Zaya.

Our first look at the movie wasn’t particularly well received, and something tells me this one won’t be either. We’ll wait for the full thing to land before making any final judgements, but as of now, we’re not feeling very hopeful.

Gods Of Egypt is set for a February 26, 2016 release.

Magic, monsters, gods and madness reign throughout the palaces and pyramids of the Nile River Valley in this action-adventure inspired by the classic mythology of Egypt. With the survival of mankind hanging in the balance, an unexpected hero takes a thrilling journey to save the world and rescue his true love. Set (Gerard Butler), the merciless god of darkness, has usurped Egypt’s throne, plunging the once peaceful and prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. With only a handful of heroic rebels opposing Set’s savage rule, Bek (Brenton Thwaites), a bold and defiant mortal, enlists the aid of powerful god Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) in an unlikely alliance against the evil overlord. As their breathtaking battle against Set and his henchmen take them into the afterlife and across the heavens, both god and mortal must pass tests of courage and sacrifice if they hope to prevail in the spectacular final confrontation.
