Arrow Star Stephen Amell Would Be Up For Playing A Marvel Superhero

Stephen Amell is most well known for playing the titular DC emerald archer on The CW’s Arrow, but that doesn’t mean the actor would rule out playing a different superhero character at some point – even for rival brand Marvel.

It’s not that Amell has had any offers or anything (at least, not yet), but during a Facebook video chat with fans he did admit that playing Oliver Queen on Arrow wouldn’t deter him from accepting a role in the Marvel Cinematic universe… despite that fact that he’s always been more of a DC guy.

Sure, why not?  I’m up for roles — movie roles — although I’ve never really read Marvel Comics and I was always a DC guy even before I was a DC guy. But it’s not like if I got offered an awesome Marvel superhero, I’d be like ‘No, I can’t.’

Amell also stated that he’s not too sure what the future holds for Arrow after next season, as the show was only ever envisioned for a five season run.

 We were always built to be a five year show, which is a very courageous thing to plan for when you’re just in the pilot stages of something. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t go six or seven [seasons]. I can’t really picture beyond that. But we’ll see. I’m having a blast.
