Smashing pre-sale ticket records, destroying the box office overseas, killing it on a Thursday night – all in a day’s, or should I say, weekend’s work for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Now, in yet another report on the film’s box office domination, we’re hearing that it’s on pace to break through a few more barriers over the next 24-48 hours.

For one, analysts are putting Disney’s behemoth at $100 million on Friday, which would make it the first three-digit-millions single day gross, ever. Not only that, but no December release has ever made $100 million in its opening weekend, never mind in just one freaking day. The cherry on cake? Well, now Disney execs are expecting The Force Awakens to clear $200 million.

Original estimates were about $180-$200, but now the studio feels confident that it will soar past that number. In fact, it’s looking very likely that J.J. Abrams’ sequel will surpass Jurassic World‘s $208 million opening, which would give it the highest grossing opening weekend of all time.

While the film’s total box office haul remains to be seen, there’s one thing that’s for sure: The Force has indeed awoken and it doesn’t look like it’ll be going anywhere anytime soon. Star Wars fever is sweeping the nation, and we couldn’t be happier about it.
