After keeping fans firmly on tenterhooks in the build-up to the riotous Christmas Day trailer, Ryan Reynolds is back in the blood-red guise as Deadpool once more, this time trumpeting the arrival of Empire’s February 2016 issue, which is packed to the brim with coverage and all manner of expletives.

In typical Deadpool fashion, the infomercial above is riddled with innuendoes and wry humor, and further proves that Reynolds is perhaps the perfect candidate to portray the Merc with a Mouth in Tim Miller’s standalone feature.

Beyond that, though, the imminent wave of coverage will surely act as one of the final media drops regarding Tim Miller’s anticipated film prior to its release, particularly with the #12DaysOfDeadpool promotional campaign now in our collective rear view mirror. As such, Empire’s issue will hopefully shed some light on the production itself, the cast of characters flanking Reynolds and, just maybe, the concept of a sequel.

Starring opposite T.J. Miller and Reynolds for the R-rated showdown are Haywire star Gina Carano, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, Ed Skrein, and Brianna Hildebrand as the inimitable Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

Empire’s February 2016 issue is on sale from December 31, and we can expect plenty of coverage revolving around Deadpool and the Merc with a Mouth’s anticipated debut.

Deadpool-1

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
