Here Are The Most Pirated Movies/TV Shows Of 2015

In news that shouldn't surprise anyone, Game of Thrones has been named the most pirated television series of the year. This is far from the first time HBO's fantasy series has taken the top spot, but it seems as if its popularity is only growing. Last year it set a record, having been downloaded 8 million times. This year, that number skyrocketed to 14 million.

In news that shouldn’t surprise anyone, Game of Thrones has been named the most pirated television series of the year. This is far from the first time that HBO’s fantasy show has taken the top spot, but it seems as if its popularity is only growing. Last year it set a record, having been downloaded 8 million times. This year, that number skyrocketed to 14 million.

That number is especially staggering when compared to The Walking Dead, which took second place with nearly 7 million downloads. Elsewhere on the list, which you can see in full below, you’ll find all the usual suspects, as series like ArrowThe Flash and Supergirl populate the rest of the list.

In terms of movies, you’ll find a number of the year’s highest-grossers here. Sitting at #1 is Interstellar with a massive 46 million downloads, followed closely by Furious 7 with 44 million.

Notably absent is Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but seeing as the film only recently opened, it hasn’t had as much time to accumulate downloads. The same can be said for some other high profile releases, like Mockingjay – Part 2.

You can check out both lists below for more details, and once you’ve done so, be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments section.
