Grab those proton packs, folks, Entertainment Weekly has assembled Paul Feig’s beloved group of Ghostbusters for a striking new shot, as the monster-hunting foursome take to the streets of New York City.

Heralding new story details and character descriptions for the titular crew – toplined by Kristen Wigg, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Melissa McCarthy – EW’s coverage reveals that Feig’s leading ladies will be battling the ghosts and ghouls of the Big Apple’s bloody and storied history. While it’s unclear if there will be any mention of the famous five families of NYC, we can readily expect our new-look Ghostbusters to battle “pilgrims, old-timey sailors, Revolutionary War spirits, and even a couple of zoot-suited gangsters.”

As for those character descriptions, the core quartet are described as so:

  • Kristen Wiig plays Erin Gilbert, a particle physicist, academic firebrand, spectral warrior.
  • Kate McKinnon is Jillian Holtzmann, a nuclear engineer, munitions expert, and proton wrangler.
  • Melissa McCarthy is Abby Yates, a paranormal researcher, supernatural scientist, and entity trapper.
  • Leslie Jones is Patty Tolan, a ghost tracker, municipal historian, and metaphysical commando.

Couple this with the individual posters that surfaced a fortnight ago and it would appear that it’s only a matter of time before Sony unveils the debut trailer for Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters. And while the reboot has built up a tremendous amount of goodwill for its new approach to the franchise, we’ll reserve judgement until we see Wigg, McKinnon, Jones and McCarthy in motion as the title scientists.

At long last, we’ll be able to see Paul Feig’s gender-swapped vision come to fruition when Ghostbusters opens in theaters on July 15, 2016.
