Xbox 360 And PlayStation 3 Will Miss Out On Call Of Duty: Black Ops III’s First DLC Pack

The last generation of consoles are to miss out on certain pieces of Call Of Duty: Black Ops III content once again. In another painful blow to gamers who still prefer to get their CoD fix on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, Activision have just broken the news that neither console will have access to the Awakening DLC due out on February 2 for PlayStation 4 and a month later for Xbox One and PC.

Don’t say you weren’t warned, though. The developer had previously cautioned players who opted to buy the last-gen version that the “availability of individual DLC packs for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms may vary.” Despite the disclaimer though, you’d be forgiven for being surprised that Activision have – for unclear reasons – decided to withhold additional content entirely for both platforms.

Activision have yet to state the fate of all future DLC packs and whether any of them will reach the 360 or PS3, but this certainly isn’t a great start. Neither the single player campaign or traditional 60 FPS frame rate made it into the previous generation version of Black Ops III, much to the chagrin of those who had yet to upgrade their consoles, so this latest revelation is likely to add fuel to the flames of that disdain.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops III‘s first DLC pack, Awakening, is due out on February 2, and features four brand new maps – including a new Zombies map. Gauntlet, Splash, Rise and Skyjacked are names of the new competitive arenas, and you can check out all we know about them in the poster below.
