CBS has released the first plot details for the twelfth episode of Supergirl, and it offers up some info on the Bizarro version of the National City superhero who will soon be making her presence felt in the  DC Comics series.

Here’s the synopsis for the episode – which is rather appropriately titled “Bizarro” – courtesy of CBS:

Kara faces off against her mirror image when Bizarro (Hope Lauren), a twisted version of Supergirl, sets out to destroy her. Also, Kara grows closer with Cat’s son, Adam (Blake Jenner), on SUPERGIRL, Monday, Feb. 1 (8:00-9:00 PM) on the CBS Television Network.

Hope Lauren played the girl in the coma who Maxwell Lord was watching over in last week’s episode of Supergirl, and this synopsis confirms that he’s going to transform her into Bizarro. Whether she’ll be a one off villain or a recurring threat in the series moving forward remains to be seen, but this is a very interesting direction to take the character in.

It’s also somewhat surprising that they’re not going down the clone route that the comic books and Smallville did as that would have meant Melissa Benoist could have played both roles. Regardless, this is definitely an interesting development for Supergirl, and it should be fun to see these two characters clash on the small screen in a few weeks from now.
