It’s not exactly a major revelation to say that the two-part Avengers: Infinity War is going to be a huge movie. If rumours are to be believed, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will team-up with the Guardians of the Galaxy to take on Thanos, while The Defenders could also end up factoring into things. Throw in the addition of some new cosmic characters, and the cast is going to be absolutely massive.
How massive you ask? Well, if comments from Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo are to be believed, they have a very specific number in mind.
[zergpaid]After Anthony inadvertently referred to Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter as “Sharon” during a Wizard World New Orleans panel, Joe chimed in to defend his brother by stating:
“We have so many characters we’re dealing with. We’re breaking ground on Avengers: Infinity War. We have a board with 67 characters on it. You have to forgive him.”
Is that an exaggeration, or the actual number of heroes and villains we’ll see in Avengers: Infinity War? Seeing as the movies are going to combine every Marvel franchise over the course of two movies, it’s probably just about right, and if anything, that number will probably grow as Phase 3 develops over the next few years.
Avengers: Infinity War is going to be Marvel’s biggest movie yet, and will no doubt be a huge test for The Russos. Can they pull it all off? Time will tell, but feel free to sound off with your thoughts in the comments section below.
