Homeland is coming home, it seems. At TCA this week, Showtime’s David Nevins revealed that the sixth season will be shot, and set in New York and the surrounding area.
“It will be set domestically, primarily in the New York area,” Nevins said.
“We are in awe how (showrunner) Alex Gansa and his writers reinvent Homeland every season. It’s exciting to see how they bring it back to the U.S. and reinvent it again,” added Gary Levine, Showtime’s President of Programming.
After a fairly successful fifth outing, all eyes are on Showtime’s hit series to see what the writers can deliver for season six. Unfortunately, Nevins wouldn’t say too much about what to expect, but he did comment briefly on the fate of one Peter Quinn:
“Quinn is very damaged, no question about that,” Levine said. “If he should live, he won’t be in the shape and form he was. I know and have seen exactly as much as you guys have seen, though” he continued. “There is no definitive answer given to whether he’s alive or not.”
Finally, Nevins commented on the future of the show beyond season six, saying that there have been “vague” discussions about when Homeland should end and its curtain call is not “imminent.” In fact, he assured those in attendance at TCA that there are “many seasons to come.”
