Sam Rockwell, Steve Coogan And More Will Lend Voices To R-Rated Animation The Adventures Of Drunky

It isn't often we get an R-rated movie with such a high-profile cast (read: Deadpool) let alone an R-rated and hand-drawn animation featuring a host of funny and talented actors. The Adventures Of Drunky is about to fix the latter, and it's got a cracking cast to help Aaron Augenblick's cheeky feature hit the ground running.

It isn’t often we get an R-rated movie with such a high-profile cast (read: Deadpool) let alone an R-rated and hand-drawn animation featuring a host of funny and talented actors. The Adventures Of Drunky is about to fix the latter though, and it’s got a cracking cast to help Aaron Augenblick’s cheeky feature hit the ground running.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Seven Psychopaths star Sam Rockwell, Steve Coogan and the award-winning Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent) will lend their vocal chords to Augenblick’s riotous tale. Out of luck and out of love, it’s Rockwell’s titular barfly who finds himself caught up between God and Satan, and the two celestial beings strike a bet to push his character through heaven and hell – quite literally, in fact – to rescue the woman he holds nearest and dearest (Nina Arianda).

Like an angel one shoulder and a horned imp on the other, Jeffrey Tambor has been cast in the role of God, while Steve Coogan steps into the shoes of the devil. Abby Elliot, John Leguizamo, Jon Glaser, SNL’s Jay Pharaoh and Noel Wells of Netflix’s Master of None are also part of the ensemble, while Aaron Bergeron will assume script duties.

Before Coogan steps into the voice booth for The Adventures of Drunky, we’ll see – or rather hear – the Alan Partridge fan favorite warm up his tonsils in The Secret Life Of Pets, due for release on July 8. Sam Rockwell, meanwhile, recently worked on Don Verdean, while Tambor continues to win unanimous praise for his portrayal of Maura Pfefferman Transparent. In short? It’s a casting coup for Aaron Augenblick’s animation.

The Powers That Be have chosen Sam Rockwell’s bumbling barfly as Earth’s last hope for The Adventures Of Drunky. Now all we need is an official release date.
