In early February, Dying Light: Enhanced Edition will add a shitload of new content to an already large game for no price whatsoever, so long as you already own it in some way, shape or form. This will include new character levels, as well as Bounties, the latter of which was just revealed today.

Based on a traditional challenge system, Dying Light: Enhanced Edition‘s Bounties will task players with working together to complete community challenges, and will also have them exploring the game’s mechanics in an effort to complete miscellaneous solo tests. Examples include cutting a certain amount of zombies’ heads off and climbing to the top of the tallest structure in the city.

The biggest draw of this new mechanic will likely end up being its dailies, which promise to give players a reason to return to Dying Light each and every day. It’s a great idea, and a fun way to increase replay value, especially for those who like sticking with and mastering one specific game.

“Today we’re showing Bounties,”  said lead game designer, Maciej Binkowski. “Basically, these are unique objectives that change every day. So even if you did all the quests, challenges, you always have a reason to jump in, preferably with some friends.”

“Bounties are a great way to bump up your XP, especially for the new Legend Levels which players will unlock once they max out one the base skill trees.”

Dying Light: Enhanced Edition will be released on February 9th, as both a free update and a buyable option, alongside The Following, the game’s much talked-about expansion. You can rest assured that we’ll be going hands on soon, and will have in-depth review coverage for you at that time.
