Based on the YouTube clip embedded above, the studio’s upcoming release appears to be some form of underwater adventure, with unconfirmed reports claiming it’s a platformer in the vein of Ori and the Blind Forest. That’s merely conjecture, though, as Insomniac has ensured concrete details remain under lock and key until tomorrow.

Currently, the esteemed developer – best known for its work on Spyro the Dragon and Sony’s woefully underplayed Resistance series – is adding one final sheen of polish to the much-anticipated Ratchet & Clank reboot for PlayStation 4, itself due to release on April 12. That’s mere weeks before the arrival of the animated feature film on April 29.

As for Insomniac‘s immediate future, the jury’s still out on what the studio is building towards with this aquatic teaser. All across its prestigious history, the developer has become one of the more exciting brands in the platforming genre. With that in mind, could we be seeing a new IP infused with Insomniac‘s knack for a remarkable arsenal? We’ll find out very soon indeed.
